Meerkats, whose habitat spans a large part of southern Africa, are usually considered extremely shy. Rarely do safari guests get the chance to capture images of these wild suricates, as the small mongooses are also known.
But on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in Botswana, there is a colony that remains undisturbed by the presence of humans.

Meerkats live in underground burrow systems and emerge from their dens with the first rays of sunlight. With Consafarity, you have the opportunity to observe these small savannah residents up close and, with a bit of luck, even be chosen as a lookout point by one of the animals. You can approach them to within about two meters and fill your camera's memory card with enchanting wildlife shots.

To get a better view of their surroundings, the animals may occasionally choose your leg or shoulder as a lookout post. Beware; sudden movements may send most of them quickly into cover, only to peek out of their burrows again moments later, full of curiosity.
