If you would like to experience exciting game drives as part of an unforgettable safari trip in Southern Africa, please contact us! We will create your very own CONSAFARITY for you, always taking into account your individual ideas, wishes and possibilities.
On a classic drive, also known as a "Game Drive," you venture out into the wilderness in an open, covered safari vehicle to explore the different areas of the respective wildlife reserves. The vehicle is driven by an experienced guide who leads you to the most beautiful spots and tries to facilitate the best animal sightings. Since animals are most active at dust, early mornings are the best time for a game drive. However, late afternoons also offer exciting animal encounters as the horizon and sun slowly approach each other again, the heated air of the midday hours cools down and dawn approaches.
Highlights of a Game Drive:
- Experience spectacular landscapes
- Explore a region extensively
- Enjoy good observation opportunities from the elevated seating position
- Get up close to the animals
- Share the vehicle with only a few guests – and enjoy a "window seat"
- Drive through the wilderness from area to area on a mobile safari
- Use radio communication to learn the whereabouts of specific animals from other vehicles
- Track nocturnal species on "night drives"
To stretch your legs and take a short break, small tea and coffee breaks are occasionally included during the drive. An evening game drive is rounded off with the traditional sundowner. For safari guests who want to track the nocturnal species of the bush, some lodges also offer night drives.
