The best time to travel
The Northern Tuli Game Reserve is a significant sanctuary for wildlife. The biodiversity in this area is staggering, with 48 large mammal species alone. Among the approximately twenty thousand animals, there are numerous elephants, fifteen large herbivore species, and three big cat species, to name a few. Tuli Safari Lodge is one of the few places where the tiny elephant shrew and its giant namesake are almost guaranteed to be seen, sometimes in the same place at the same time! Additionally, it's the perfect spot for avid birdwatchers.
Besides walking safaris and game drives, which are even offered after dark, there's also the opportunity to visit the nearby village of Mothlabaneng. The tour includes a visit to the local school, traditional basket weaving, fascinating rock art sites, a wine tasting at the "Palm Distillery," interactions with community members, and the opportunity to witness some community projects in action.
