The most important facts at a glance
To ensure a private safari experience, Savute Safari Lodge accommodates only twenty-four guests in eleven thatched chalets made of indigenous wood, along with a family room consisting of two double rooms. The elegant chalets, furnished in tranquil neutral tones to blend seamlessly with their natural surroundings, feature expansive private terraces, a combined sleeping and living area, and private bathrooms.
In addition to a stunning two-story main building made of thatch and wood, housing the lounge, a library, and a bar, Savute Safari Lodge also offers a viewing platform, an alfresco dining area, and a swimming pool. Here, one should not miss lounging on the spectacular sunbeds – an ideal spot to observe the diverse wildlife, including the resident elephants, as they make their way to the channel for bathing, playing, and quenching their thirst.

The best time to travel
The winding waterways of the Savuti Channel, flowing past the lodge, stretch from the Linyanti River to the Savuti Marsh and have pumped life into the western part of Chobe National Park for thousands of years. This capricious and unpredictable channel, with a fascinating history of flooding and drying up independently of good rainy seasons and high water levels elsewhere, has puzzled residents, geologists, and other researchers for many years. It's therefore not surprising that "savute" translates to "unpredictable."
During morning and afternoon game drives, safari guests can observe numerous wild animals attracted by the region. Lion sightings, in particular, are not unlikely due to the large population for which this area is widely known. Those visiting during the time of the migration can witness Africa's second-largest zebra herd migration with some luck. Cultural insights can be gained on an exciting excursion to the ancient San rock paintings on the Gubatsa Hills.
