The best time to travel
Due to its ideal location on the edge of the Okavango Delta, Khwai offers a unique diversity of animal and plant species, providing fantastic safari experiences. Although this region is considered the drier part of the delta, the Khwai River remains a water source throughout the year, attracting one of Botswana's most fantastic concentrations of wildlife. This allows guests of Sango to engage in a range of both land and water-based activities.
With a combination of permanent water, seasonal floodplains, open grasslands, scenic riverbanks, and dry woodlands, this diverse habitat is home to a wealth of mammals and birds rarely found in northern Botswana.
Visitors to Sango Safari Camp are invited to experience this richness through guided walking safaris, magical mokoro rides, and game drives during the day and after sunset. Located on the edge of the small Khwai village, the camp also offers enriching cultural encounters with the local community, providing guests with a direct insight into the heart of Botswana.
