The best time to travel
The Mashatu Game Reserve is part of the wildlife-rich Northern Tuli Game Reserve, located on the border of Botswana and South Africa. Vast savannas and plains, dense bushveld forests, fertile wetlands, and tall, rugged sandstone cliffs characterize the landscape.
Covering an area of approximately 29,000 hectares, the area offers excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. Notably, seven representatives of Africa's "giants" call Mashatu's pristine wilderness home: the African elephant, lion, giraffe, eland, ostrich, kori bustard, and, as a plant species, the towering baobab tree. Game drives, walking safaris, and even horseback riding tours offered by the camp allow for close encounters with leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, African wild dogs, zebras, wildebeests, and various antelope species. Bird enthusiasts will also be thrilled by the over 350 resident bird species.
