The most important facts at a glance
Bakwena Lodge has a total of fifteen chalets plus a honeymoon suite.
While the ten Riverview chalets are nestled in a small riverine forest overlooking the Chobe River, the five treetop chalets are built three meters above the ground on stilts, reaching up to the tree canopies. Each chalet features an ensuite bathroom and a private veranda where you can listen to the call of the fish eagle and fully appreciate the beauty of Africa. For newlyweds, there's also the Honeymoon Suite, offering genuine Chobe romance and ultimate comfort.
The central lounge area, not far from the Chobe River's jetty, includes a lounge, bar, dining area, and swimming pool.

The activities on offer range from game drives and boat cruises on the Chobe River to fishing trips, birding excursions, nature walks, cultural outings, and island visits.
Bakwena operates on the principle of "Treading lightly upon the earth" and strives for a low carbon footprint. The fact that Bakwena is located in one of the world's largest conservation areas with one of the highest concentrations of wildlife – especially elephants – forms the crucial basis for the lodge's daily environmental decisions aimed at preserving Chobe's ecosystem.
