- Khama Rhino Sanctuary
For the protection of Rhinos
Established in 1992, the Khama Rhino Sanctuary spans nearly 8,600 hectares in central Botswana and was created to safeguard both black and white rhino populations. Previously decimated by poaching, these animals now find a secure refuge within this sanctuary.

At the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, visitors can encounter not only rhinos but also zebras, wildebeests, impalas, springboks, jackals, kudus, and numerous other wildlife species. The sanctuary offers guided game drives, bush walks, and birdwatching opportunities.
The nearest major cities are Gaborone and Francistown, as well as the village of Serowe, located just 30 kilometers away, which is the ancestral home of the Khama family. Serowe is notable as the birthplace of both Seretse Khama, Botswana's first president (1966–1980), and Ian Khama, a former president (2008–2018).
