The Land of Elephants
The Chobe Riverfront is part of the vast Chobe National Park. The floodplains along the Chobe River's banks are the most accessible tourist region of the park, thanks to their proximity to the border town of Kasane. Visitors can explore this area not only by land but also by boat.

The Chobe River originates in Angola and once flowed further south towards the Kalahari before tectonic shifts forced it to change direction eastward, where it now merges into the Zambezi River.
Before reaching its destination, it branches into various channels and floodplains within the Chobe National Park, creating an extraordinary abundance of life.
This area of the Chobe National Park is home to countless zebras, buffalos, and – a particular highlight – the largest elephant population globally. Over 45,000 elephants find a secure haven here. With the diverse herds, visitors can wonderfully observe these unique animals and their behaviours. The river itself is also home to a variety of hippos and crocodiles and boasts an immense diversity of birdlife.
