Experiencing the African bush and its unique wilderness while considering the conservation of both human and animal habitats was the goal when Theda Gräfin Knyphausen founded CONSAFARITY in 2013.
CONSAFARITY, composed of the three terms CONSERVATION, SAFARI, and SHARETY, expresses the desire to sustainably protect the unique nature of Southern Africa and share it with guests from around the world on safaris.
Theda's personal fascination with Africa was sparked back in 1998. During a six-month journey through Southern Africa, she decided to undergo training as a safari guide. This allowed her to intimately experience and fall in love with the breathtaking wilderness. Africa had captivated her.
Back in Germany, Theda spent several years in various cities across the country, but the wanderlust kept calling. In 2012, the native of East Frisia finally returned to Botswana, where she settled in the "safari capital" of Maun. Here, she initially founded the safari company CONSAFARITY and in 2015, the Knyphausen Foundation for sustainability, conservation, and education.
Since then, 5% of every CONSAFARITY booking has been donated to the foundation's educational projects, initiated and supervised by Theda on-site in Botswana.
